sass and sensibility

"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit. "No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."

test response--8th grade

Question: What would you want to use as a material for a bathroom window: glass that is transparent, translucent or opaque? Explain your reasoning. Response: I would want to use a translucent window so light can get in and so no one can see my goods.

When nature calls...

Some quotables from Light of my Life...these come from our recent trip to Kenya.

upon seeing black and white Colobus monkeys: "I love biracial things!"

During a conversation about using public restrooms, particularly pit latrines:
Father Zach: Well, when nature calls, I answer!
Light of my Life: When Mother Nature calls me, I just send her straight to voicemail!

This one's not from school directly, but it involved two of my students meeting my friend's son, Sam, who is 4. He was excited to show them his Transformer action figures.
12th grade girl: I love Transformers!
Sam (looking confused): Are you a boy or a girl?
[Apparently the idea of a girl liking Transformers was a little too much for his four year old mind to handle :) ]

Re: merging this with my Gmail account... this is what Google tells me "You can not associate a Gmail address with your Google Account." Figure that one out. Hah :-P Basically I think that since I signed up for Blogger with a different user name than my Gmail, I can't link the two. Thanks for your comments though :) The comments go to my gmail, so that's not the issue, it's just the multiple sign in that I have to finagle...
