A decent way to make money...

In the 8th grade this morning we were talking about why scientists do experiments and investigations. This led us to talking about how scientists are often trying to answer questions, and whose questions they are trying to answer. By way of example, I mentioned that when the government has questions, they will give funding to scientists in order to answer those questions.

8th grade girl: So do you get funding to answer our questions?
me: Well...yes. It's called my salary.

I guess that's one way of looking at why I get paid...:)
